ERS 2017 at the Milano Congressi Milan
ERS 2017 will be held at the Milano Congressi (MiCo) in Milan. Constructed in 1994 the MiCo is not only the largest congress centre in Europe but is also one of the most impressive buildings of its type in Europe. In addition to its spacious interior of contemporary design which can accommodate 18,000 visitors, it is above all the architecture of the building that is so striking. The translucent roof with an area of over 15,000 square metres that lies over the congress centre like a quilt was the creation of the architect, Mario Bellini, and is a real eye catcher in the cityscape of Milan.
The European Respiratory Society
The European Respiratory Society was founded in 1990 in London. Since then its annual congress has been one of the world’s most important meeting points in the field of research and the treatment of pulmonary and respiratory tract diseases.
The international members and participants of the ERS congress attach great importance to increasing awareness of pulmonary and respiratory tract diseases in order to improve the prevention, treatment and handling of respiratory diseases. Current topics and findings are therefore discussed every year at the congress in the course of which handbooks, guidelines, abstracts and reports relevant to the carrying out of research are developed.
